Bonnie,

Thank you for being part of the show – we appreciate you.

You are looking for information on basement finishing systems that are pre-finished and easily installed.

I had my basement repaired and now am concerned about potential leaks.

Matt,

Thanks for being part of the show – we appreciate you.

It sounds as though the company you hired did everything as they should.

You are getting some signs of moisture in one spot at the base of the wall.

While this is not something we would hope for, this year has been out of the ordinary and a periodic bit of moisture – rather than active water – is not unexpected.

Question: Hi Guys,

We returned from the Thanksgiving Holiday to find that our sump pump had failed. After the dry out company had cleanup/dry out well in hand, we found that there was also an area where the floor/wall joint was leaking. I found the two companies recommended on your website (Affordable Dry Basements, Basement Systems of Michigan) and called to get estimates. With all the rain we’ve had in the last week, you can imagine ..read more

I noticed this week the crack seems to be wider (1/8″ at its widest point) and longer (it stair steps almost the length of the wall; 29′) and wondered if you ..read more

Crack in Basement Wall

Name: Sal

City: Sterling Heights

Question: I have a crack in my basement wall. The crack is vertical and lets in a little bit of water on very rainy days. I have called a company to come out and look at it. They recommend putting a board on it, breaking up the floor and tying it to the drainage system under my basement floor. I did some research and found out that method is not good because it causes mold to grow behind the board. Please, let ..read more
